1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your use of the Hanga House website (www.hangahouse.com) and the services provided by Direwolf Industries LLC, doing business as Hanga House (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms. Hanga House operates as an authenticated marketplace for investment-grade contemporary prints and editions.

2. Definitions

“Buyer” means any person who submits an enquiry to purchase a work listed on the platform. “Seller” means any person who consigns a work for sale through Hanga House. “Work” means any print, edition, or artwork listed on the platform. “Authentication” refers to our seven-step verification process applied to all works before listing.

3. Buying

All works listed on Hanga House have been authenticated through our seven-step verification process. When you submit an enquiry, we will provide a full condition report and provenance summary within 24 hours. A purchase is not binding until both parties have agreed to the terms of sale in writing. All prices are listed in GBP unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without notice until a sale is confirmed.

4. Reservations & Inspection Period

Submitting a reservation request through the website is not a binding hold on any work. A reservation becomes effective only once Hanga House confirms it in writing, with an itemized total showing the listed price and the 12% buyer’s premium. Cancelling a reservation before it is confirmed carries no charge.

Following delivery, the buyer has a 14-day inspection period. Purchase funds are held by Hanga House and are not released to the seller until this inspection period ends. A claim that a work materially differs from its condition report is handled under the Condition Guarantee published on our Returns & Refund Policy page — full refund and return at our expense, subject to the 48-hour photographic-evidence claim window stated there. The 14-day inspection hold governs when seller funds are released; the Condition Guarantee governs the claim itself.

5. Selling & Consignment

Sellers may submit works for consignment through our submission form. We reserve the right to decline any submission that does not meet our authentication standards. There are no seller fees, no listing charges, and no commission deducted from the seller’s proceeds. Hanga House earns a 12% buyer’s premium added to the listed price, payable by the buyer. The seller receives 100% of the agreed listing price. The seller warrants that they are the rightful owner of the work and have full authority to sell it.

6. Authentication & Condition

While we take every reasonable care to authenticate and accurately describe each work, Hanga House does not guarantee the absolute authenticity of any work. Our authentication process is conducted in good faith using industry-standard methods including provenance research, certificate verification, physical inspection, edition verification, expert consultation, and market cross-referencing. Condition reports are provided to buyers before purchase and reflect our honest assessment at the time of inspection.

7. Payment

Payment is due within 7 days of sale confirmation. We accept bank transfer and other payment methods as agreed. The buyer pays the listed price plus a 12% buyer’s premium. All settlements are made in pounds sterling (GBP); the buyer is responsible for any international bank transfer, intermediary, and currency-conversion fees, such that Hanga House receives the full invoiced GBP amount. Sellers receive 100% of the listed price within 14 business days of the buyer’s payment clearing or the reservation’s 14-day inspection period ending, whichever is later.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, design elements, and logos, is the property of Hanga House or its licensors. Artwork images are displayed with the permission of the rights holders. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hanga House shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or any transaction conducted through it. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the commission received by Hanga House for the relevant transaction.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of California.
